WANA (Jan 30) – The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski, held a phone conversation on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

Araghchi congratulated Poland on assuming the rotating presidency of the European Union and expressed hope for constructive engagement between Iran and the EU during Poland’s tenure.

Highlighting ongoing talks between Iran and three European countries, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to a dialogue-driven and interactive approach to resolving issues while also being fully prepared for all scenarios.

The Polish foreign minister described the 550-year history of diplomatic ties and the nearly century-old Treaty of Amity between Iran and Poland as a foundation for friendly relations.

Sikorski also expressed optimism about resolving outstanding issues between Iran and the EU, including the nuclear issue.
